Suckers for happy endings, CARES Clarksdale is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter dedicated to improving animal welfare in the Mississippi Delta. We provide a safe haven for animals in need, raise awareness about the joys of adopting shelter pets, and inspire our community to take pride in its shelter pet population. Our mission is simple: love pets, love people, and help pet lovers keep the companions they cherish. Since moving to our new facility in October 2017—ten times larger than our previous space—we’ve expanded our impact with indoor housing for every animal, adoption rooms, a kids’ education space, a volunteer center, a medical suite, a low-cost veterinary clinic and areas for community programs.
