You can volunteer! Our volunteers will play a vital role in the operations and success of Clarksdale Animal Rescue Effort and Shelter. They help in countless ways by socializing animals, petting cats, walking dogs, driving to meet transports, or passing out C.A.R.E.S. flyers.
If you feel that you have some time, passion, and are dedicated to working with a caring and professional organization, we would love to hear from you! As our dreams and capacity of the organization grows so will our volunteer opportunities. Please be patient as we restructure our volunteer program to be the very best and safest for all volunteers. ESSENTIAL SHELTER HELP
These may include but are not limited to laundry, toy cleaning, mopping, and disinfecting.
TRANSPORT DRIVERS
Drivers are needed to transfer animals to/from the shelter. These trips may be as close as the Delma Furniss Welcome Center on Hwy 61 or one may be needed to drive to Memphis or Knoxville to connect with a transport.
ADOPT OR FOSTER A PET
Our goal, above all, is to find safe and loving homes for all of the animals. Fostering volunteers provide a temporary, loving home for adoptable puppies or animals. Fostering allows a parent to learn about a pet’s personality so that it may be better matched for a forever home. Our current foster families have been tremendous in allowing puppies time out of the shelter so that they may be transported to adoptable families.
OFFICE ASSISTANT
Help with answering phone, greeting customers, helping with correspondences, and record keeping.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Fundraising events such as Santa Paws, and other special events rely on the involvement of our many volunteers with numerous talents.
PHOTOGRAPHY
If you are a skilled photographer with a camera, photos of shelter pets are always needed to help get them adopted.
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Love kids? We've learned that kids + dogs/cats = responsibility and fun.
WALKING THE DOGS OR BEING A CAT COMPANION
This important aspect of volunteering provides our animals with socialization to increase their chances of adoption. For a volunteer’s safety, volunteer training will be provided so that it may be the best experience for the animals as well as the volunteers.
